La Puta Suegra x Plat Institute
In collaboration with La Puta Suegra, one of Spain’s leading catering and event companies with an international presence, Plat Institute developed an immersive workshop focused on creativity, innovation, and future-thinking within the Horeca sector.

The session was conceived as a space for dialogue and experimentation, where gastronomy, design, sustainability, and sensory storytelling became tools to rethink hospitality experiences and creative processes. Rather than presenting innovation as a theoretical concept, the workshop translated our methodologies into tangible experiences that participants could see, taste, touch, and discuss.

Using coffee as the central narrative thread, Plat Institute shared its vision and working methodologies through a multisensory journey exploring the product across different states, formats, and transformations. The experience moved from the ritual and sensory dimension of coffee consumption to experimental applications involving texture, temperature, aroma, and perception.
A key part of the workshop focused on circularity and material innovation, demonstrating how coffee waste can be transformed into new materials and design opportunities. Through this process, participants were invited to understand waste not as an endpoint, but as the beginning of new creative systems and sustainable applications.

The workshop became a platform for exchanging ideas around the future of hospitality — exploring how creativity, material research, sensory experiences, and sustainability can generate new forms of value within gastronomy and events.
