Plat Institute is a design studio working at the intersection of food, entertainment, and experimentation. By combining creativity with scientific methodology, the studio explores what it calls augmented gastronomy: an approach that reimagines how people perceive and interact with food, transforming taste into a multisensory, immersive, and meaningful experience.

Through hands-on prototyping and real-world experimentation, Plat develops products and experiences that expand the possibilities of contemporary gastronomy.




Within the Plat ecosystem, the brand VOM was created to focus on technological tools and innovative products for gastronomy and mixology.

Among them is the Edible Flying Cloud, a non-gravitational edible garnish that turns the moment of service into a playful and surprising sensory experience.

Plat is based in Sant Jordi Desvalls, near Girona. This is our home: a space away from the rush where small sparks can grow into ambitious ideas — a slightly crazy place where dialogue, experimentation, and stubbornness allow them to take shape.
